Our Classes

Our classes are designed to accommodate all fitness levels and any stage of PD, from wheelchair bound to ambulatory.  Our classes will leave you feeling invigorated and more mobile.  Caregivers are invited to attend and provide assistance, if needed, as well as learn activities to carry over at home.  Wear comfortable clothing and bring water to stay hydrated.

Group Classes

Sitting PWR!Moves

These classes are for those who require an assistive device for mobility and may move at a slower pace.  We will focus on PWR!Moves in sitting, using your voice, improving posture, weight shifting side to side, trunk rotation, and seated stepping.  Classes also involve arm and leg strengthening activities as well as games that challenge memory and problem solving skills.

PWR!Circuit

This class is recommended for those who are highly mobile without an assistive device and are able to get on and off of the floor independently or with assist of a chair for support. We will participate in group PWR!Moves in sitting, standing, or on the floor and will rotate through several stations that challenge balance, strength, mobility, coordination and involve multitasking and cognitive skills.

Rock Steady Boxing

This class is recommended for those who are able to ambulate independently or with an assistive device. The exercises are largely adapted from boxing drills. The focus is on agility, speed, muscular endurance, accuracy, hand-eye coordination, footwork and overall strength. Some boxers may need a “cornerman” to ensure safety.

Mindful Movement Class

We will be taking you through various mindful movement experiences to promote self care of your body, mind and spirit.

Other Opportunities

Peer Group

This is open to all POP Fitness clients and occurs on the Second Sunday of each month from 1:30-3:00 pm at the studio.  Members have an opportunity to talk and share ideas.  Carepartners are welcome.

Private Sessions

If you feel like you would like a more personalized workout or just are not comfortable in a group setting, we offer one-on-one training sessions.  We will begin with a consultation where we assess your walking, balance, and transfers, and formulate a program geared toward addressing your needs and achieving your goals.

PD School

This is a zoom session that is meant for education on all topics relating to Parkinson’s disease.  Each session we will watch a different recorded lecture that lasts about an hour.  You can read more about the lectures at Parkinson School (parkinson-school.com)
